I hope all you ladies had a wonderful weekend! We are really gearing up for baby here at home and putting the finishing touches on baby boy’s nursery. I wasn’t feeling great the last few days but I’m trekking along at 30.5 weeks pregnant (these pics were taken a few weeks ago…belly is so much bigger now) and getting more and more excited to meet our little man face to face. With changes at home, you will continue to see changes here on HOW too. Keep coming back this week to see more new fun posts!

High on my never ending list of things-to-buy-by-the-time-baby-comes is the perfect diaper bag. I wanted a bag that was chic, versatile, has compartments, and well…that doesn’t look like a diaper bag. Enter: Lo and Sons Seville Bag. Now this is NOT a diaper bag. It is the most perfect light weight laptop bag, but you will see why I will utilize it for my diaper bag. The Seville fits your laptop perfectly tucked inside with compartments and space for everything you need for your work day or travel. Now… the BEST part about this bag… the exterior changes so you can change your bag to go with your outfit without the struggle of moving everything inside of one bag to another. The handles attach to the lining and unhook from the exterior for easy switching. Anyone else switch bags and ALWAYS leave their credit card behind? OMG I do it all the time. So annoying. Well, problems are solved with Lo and Sons. Check out their website and their beautiful bags here. You will see why, this perfect laptop bag will be my perfect diaper bag and still has space for my laptop. It really is the perfect everything-bag.

Week 28 - Third Trimester Update // Her Open Window

I am officially in my third trimester!! Where is time going?! Here is my 28 week update and items I cannot live without!
How far along?
28 weeks
Gender?
Baby Boy
Due Date?
December 29.
Name?
We have his name! We have actually had it for a long time, just not sharing on social media yet. You will have to wait for when he comes!
Weight gain?
Yes. Yes…Yes. Then a plateau. Has this happened to anyone else? I gained most of my weight so far up until 24 weeks then the last 4 have plateaued out. Weird right?
Maternity clothes?
Still loving maternity jeans like these and just opened a big box of maternity tops from ASOS. But the jeans I am obsessing over are Mavi. I’ve been a big Mavi fan for a long time now and when they told me they launched their maternity line, I was 100% on board. Check them out here! Full post coming soon!
Baby movement?
Baby boy is STRONG!! Kicking, moving and a-shaking all in my belly. At this point I can see my belly moving and shifting as he moves too. He is sitting pretty low so kicks to the bladder are pretty interesting to say the least, but thankfully, he moves a lot so they don’t last too long! Belly button is still in but it is just about flat at this point, about to pop. Eek!
Feeling my son move has by far been my favorite part of my pregnancy.
Sleep?
This has gotten better, thank God. I think I figured out the pillow situation and I am loving my body pillow! I think I was so scared that I would roll on my back (a pregnancy no-no) or crush my boy by leaning too far on my belly that it was waking me up all night long. After it was explained to me how protected my boy is in my belly, I relaxed and was able to sleep comfortably on my side. Again, thank God.
Cravings?
Gummy worms. Chocolate. Cereal. Avocado toast. Just not all together!
Aversions?
Chicken! I know weird! I can’t do it.
Symptoms?
Getting biiiig! Lower back pain and my legs are killing me. Also, I have been really out of breath. All ‘normal’ I guess!
Missing anything?
My birthday is January 11 so I am praying my first cocktail in 40+ weeks will be then!!
Exercise?
I’ve been active but not working out a ton. I went to a boxing class last week and loved it. I will probably go back this week!
Best moment this week?
Starting construction on the nursery!! It should be done Wednesday and I cannot wait to show you all the before and after! Alex and I have been working hard on getting ready for baby. FULL nesting mode in our home. We are going through everything, cleaning, organizing and prepping for baby boy. We shopped all day Saturday and have all furniture purchased and  finishing up the small stuff. About to go crazy on Honest.com! We are on it!
Looking forward to?
Finishing up the nursery! Also, we are headed to my home town this weekend and I am so excited for my mom to see my growing belly!!

On my mind?

Birthing experience. I always said I wanted an epidural, but I am now highly considering a completely natural birth. I am doing a ton of research right now!

Things I can’t live without?

Honest Belly Balm, my friend Emily recommended this on her blog during her first pregnancy and it is pure gold, her suggestion is to apply from knees to nipples! Best advice!

These Honest Company prenatals. A perfect prenatal is really hard to come by! This one is, in my opinion, the best on the market. It has everything you need during pregnancy and over 100% almost every vitamin or mineral. Bonus: you can take on an empty tummy, before breakfast, and it won’t make you feel sick. I  also take these with my prenatals.

Weight gain?
Ok, so I have promised to be totally open and honest here on the blog and I want to share my pregnancy with you, but this I am going to be a bit discreet on. I do not want to tell you how much I have gained for the sole reason that I do not want anyone comparing themselves to me. Whether it’s wow, I gained so much less… she must be eating a ton. Or.. wow I gained so much more, am I doing something wrong? I know this may not seem like a big deal to some, I mean, you gain weight when your preggo, but it can be hard to control. Everyone’s body is different, every pregnancy is different, and everyone handles pregnancy differently. Doctors say if you are not over or under weight, you should gain between 25 and 35 pounds. Basically 0-5 pounds until week 14 then a pound a week after that until week 40. Now that is pretty specific if you ask me and I do not know if it’s possible for anyone’s body to work so ‘perfectly’. I am so over the: ohh she looks so amazing, she only gained weight in her belly, oh she is so teeny still… ohh blah blah. Our bodies are incredible, as women we are given the greatest gift, being able to grow a HUMAN! Let us grow and gain whatever weight we gain in peace.
So, yes, I have gained weight and all is healthy. Yes, my whole body has gained weight, not just my belly.
Maternity clothes?
Oh yea girl. I am loving me some maternity clothes. I am wearing a lot of my non maternity tops and dresses, but I am integrating maternity clothing slowly into the mix. I am loving these tops from Target. They are so soft and comfortable. I just ordered these pants and they are AMAZING. I am also loving these and these maternity jeans. PS: Maternity jeans are so comfortable. I mean I would wear them not preggo. Kidding! Well… maybe…
Baby movement?
Baby is moving so much!! I am obsessed with feeling his kicks and shifts. Sometimes I wake up with my arm wrapped around my belly because I can feel him even in my sleep. Alex has felt him kick so many times and it makes me so happy that he can experience his boy moving too!
Sleep?
Ugh. I am not sleeping well at all. I cannot get comfortable and I toss and turn all night. Also, I pee like 50 times a night. It hasn’t been easy, but I know it’s going to be like this for a long time when baby comes. Just gotta get used to it.
Cravings?
Every now and then I realllly want gummy worms and I have been making everything I eat spicy. I add hot sauce, pepperoncinis  or jalapeños to everything, even salad. I can’t stop!
Symptoms?
So, there are so many things that ‘they’ do not tell you about pregnancy. A lot of surprises that are totally normal but you are not expecting. Like hormonal headaches, acne, hair not being voluminous and amazing, big nipples (seriously big), dental issues… the list goes on and on. I am lucky that my skin has been really clear other than a few weeks in the beginning, but the body aches and back aches have been killing me. I get out of breath really easily. My hair is meh… but my nails have been soon strong! I have gotten a few headaches and a bad cold and the hormones are a bitch, but all in all I am feeling great. Thankful and counting down the weeks to meet our little man!
Missing anything?
Soft cheeses (I looooove cheese) and cocktails. I would love spicy margarita these days. It will taste so good in a few months!
Exercise?
I should be working out more, but I have been 1 to 2 times a week. I know pathetic. Hubs is trying to motivate me to kick it up a notch!
Best moment this week?
Every time Alex rubs my belly. I love it. It makes me feel so excited. I am carrying around a piece of him all day and it is such a beautiful miracle. I love when he rubs my belly to say hi to our boy. Gives me all the feels.
Looking forward to?
Meeting baby!!!!

On my mind?

I dream about who he will be, what he will love, what he will be good at, who he will look like. I cannot wait to watch him become a man as good as his dad is.
